In recent years, young people have become increasingly vocal in the global conversation around the climate emergency.

Today, emerging young leaders are advocating for climate justice in unconventional ways designed to circumvent the formal policy frameworks that have traditionally ignored their voices.

For the latest instalment of the WWF Conversations series, WWF-Australia CEO, Dermot O'Gorman sat down with Kieu Gavin, youth advocate, international development committee expert member for The Australian Greens and former head of international engagement at Oaktree to discuss why the perspectives of younger generations are a critical piece to solving the climate crisis.

As Kieu says, “We've got to be experimental. As long as young people are disenfranchised from tangible formal decision-making processes and spaces, we've got to agitate from the outside… and then momentum is built around that.”
