WWF is very saddened by the death of Steve Irwin. By raising the profile of Australia's unique wildlife, both in Australia and around the world, Steve Irwin made an enormous contribution to conservation.
His enthusiasm and immense character brought crucial conservation issues into the homes of millions of people. Our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time.
