Green is the new black - Ksubi partners with Earth Hour

How do you save the earth and look good at the same time?

The lads from Ksubi know there is nothing cool about global warming and are using their line of "sad earth" t-shirts to promote Earth Hour, an environmental initiative aimed at reducing Sydney's greenhouse gashouse gas pollution by switching off the cities lights from 7:30pm to 8:30pm on Saturday 31 March.

Founders of Ksubi and keen surfers Dan Single and George Garrow who started out in Sydney's northern beaches have a vested interest in supporting the cause.

"It's a worthy initiative. We want to increase awareness and hopefully encourage others to take an interest in our environment," Dan Single said.

The t-shirts are part of an ambassador programme by the Ksubi boys to raise the profile of environmental issues like global warming.

"We want to encourage celebrities and other prominent people in the arts, media, film and fashion fields to wear the sad earth tees and support the cause," George Garrow said.

The "sad earth" t-shirt, featuring a map of earth with a sad face symbolises the distress we're causing our entire planet.

To find out more about Earth Hour, Sydney residents and businesses can visit the official website www.earthhour.org. Visitors to the site can pledge their support and sign up to receive a free Earth Hour information pack which, in addition to providing further information on the campaign, gives them hints and tips on how to cut their household and office electricity bills and emissions.
