Aussie power generators flunk carbon test
Despite having 20 years to prepare, a new report by WWF-Australia shows that most Australian power generators are still doing next to nothing to prepare for a low carbon future. A scorecard ranking the power generators on generation mix, pollution reduction targets and research and development shows that more than half couldn't even scrape through with a pass mark. At the bottom of the heap came Alcoa, Intergen and Rio Tinto, three companies that didn't score a single star in any category.
