CoastKeepers @ Bondi Fish Survey

A group of volunteer divers undertake monthly fish surveys at North Bondi as part of a fish survey initiative called CoastKeepers run by National Parks Association~Marine. Volunteers were trained by NPA~Marine in identification techniques for 50 target fish species, survey methodology and diver safety. Divers then completed 2 training dives after which they received a PADI certification as a Project AWARE Fish Identification Specialty diver. The volunteer's regular surveys will build a picture of what marine life lives at a selected dive site in Bondi over the 6 month project. Data collected will be provided to BioNet - a state-wide online database, Waverley Council, the Bondi Marine Discovery Centre and to Project AWARE as part of their surveys across Asia Pacific.
