Wallpaper your mobile to support Australia's threatened species!
WWF's research indicates now is the time to act to rescue an alarming number of Australian species from extinction. The lack of a safety net of protected areas for threatened species is putting our unique wildlife at risk of being lost forever. But everyday Australians can take action to save these species, and easily too - via their mobile phones. By downloading the WWF Threatened Species Wallpapers, you will get stunning images of threatened species from WWF's image library. In addition, $2.95 (less GST) of the proceeds of the wallpaper download will be distributed to WWF to support our ongoing research work.

Why launch the wallpapers on National Threatened Species Day?
National Threatened Species Day commemorates the death of the last Tasmanian tiger in captivity on this day in 1936. It was instigated in 1996 by the Threatened Species Network , and is managed by WWF and the Australian Government.
For National Threatened Species Day 2008, WWF and Telstra BigPond will launch a wallpaper of a threatened wallaby. Then, each month, a new wallpaper featuring a different threatened species will be released to download. Each wallpaper will have a species page on WWF's site so that people can learn more about these amazing animals. Together with Australian communities, we are aiming to reverse the decline of our native animals.
