Take Action on Climate Change
The Australian Government will soon announce its greenhouse gas pollution reduction target for 2020. This critical decision will affect us all and your voice needs to be heard!
A two degree rise in average global surface temperature will have severe social, economic and environmental impacts: 3.1 billion people will suffer serious water shortages; 180 million people will be affected by sea level rise; and up to 35% of the world's animal and plants will face extinction. The world's leading climate scientists believe that we must reduce greenhouse gas pollution by 25%-40% below 1990 levels if we are to avoid the worst impacts of climate change.
Standing up for Queensland's Environment
Queensland has spectacular reefs, pristine beaches, ancient rainforests and charismatic wildlife. Unfortunately we also have some of the world's worst rates of climate pollution, land clearing and wildlife extinction. WWF and its allies have identified powerful solutions. But we need your help to make them happen.
How can a screensaver save our planet?
Exquisite Coral Reefs and computers, let alone screensavers, don't usually work together. But, WWF now have a screensaver that demonstrates the beauty of Coral Reefs and the effect global warming has on them.
Wallpaper your mobile to support Australia's threatened species!
WWF's research indicates now is the time to act to rescue an alarming number of Australian species from extinction. The lack of a safety net of protected areas for threatened species is putting our unique wildlife at risk of being lost forever. But everyday Australians can take action to save these species, and easily too - via their mobile phones. By downloading the WWF Threatened Species Wallpapers, you will get stunning images of threatened species from WWF’s image library. In addition, $2.95 (less GST) of the proceeds of the wallpaper download will be distributed to WWF to support our ongoing research work.

Help create Australia's Safety Net
Habitat loss is the single biggest threat to Australian wildlife. To help safeguard the future of this and the next generation of Australia's unique creatures, WWF is creating a Safety Net of protected areas through an exclusive sponsorship by Telstra. These areas will provide refuge and protection for thousands of Australian animals facing a daily struggle to survive. And WWF urgently needs your help.

Looking for a holiday in NT?
WWF Australia supports Tourism NT in the development of a Project which reduces the greenhouse gas emissions from the tourism industry in Central Australia.
Tourism NT has collaborated with three tour operators working out of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory to develop a model which tourism operators can use to reduce their greenhouse emissions.
The operators have then been advised how to reduce and minimise their emissions into the future. Tourism NT has then acquired accredited offsets to neutralise those emissions that can’t be avoided.

Tips for eco-living
In his recently-released book, The Weather Makers, author Dr Tim Flannery provides a "Climate Change Checklist", suggesting ways that each of us can reduce the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) produced as we go about our daily lives.
The smallest steps can make a big difference to Australia. These tips suggest other practical ways that you can reduce resource usage and help our living planet.
Organise a Fundraising Event
Taking part in a fundraising activity (be it a 'green day', karaoke night or tree planting event) is a fun way to raise funds and awareness, and helps build a sense of teamwork, community and achievement. Find out more about how you can fundraise for WWF-Australia.
